As a Backstreet
Boys fan for 19 years and counting (KTBSPA), it’s only fitting that the first
post on my new blog is dedicated to my first love, Nick Carter.
On April 20, the
23rd anniversary of the creation of one of the greatest boy bands in history
(I’m not biased, this is a fact), Nick announced the arrival of his son, with a
powerful name fit for a descendant of pop royalty. Odin Reign Carter came into
the world on April 19, after 30 hours of labour (yikes!) and weighed in at 8
pounds 11 ounces.
And in true big brother fashion, Brian
Littrell (remember Frick and Frack?) shared the most adorable picture collage on Instagram,
welcoming Nick into the coolest dad club in America: “My how time flies..... 23
years ago today, I met #nickcarter and
he was 13...... Now he is a new member of an elite club....#fatherhood......#BSBDAD.... Congrats to
the Carter Family....”
Other than sharing their happy
announcement, I’d also like to share Nick and Lauren’s maternity shoot, with
some breathtakingly beautiful shots (some of which I will definitely recreate
one day) from photographer Lori Dorman. The pictures were exclusively revealed
on ET on March 11, and you can see my favourites below, and the original ET

Nick’s life has been an emotional rollercoaster,
and for those of us watching from the sidelines it’s such a pleasure to see
him start a new stage of his life, with the woman he loves by his side and the
beautiful little human they created. Congratulations Nick and Lauren, and
welcome to the world Backstreet baby boy.
